Mount Eyre Vineyards
Mount Eyre Vineyards
Mount Eyre Vineyards encompasses three different vineyards in and around Pokoblin in the historic and beautiful Hunter Valley. Consisting of the Three Ponds vineyard, the Holman Estate and the Honeytree Estate, the origins of this diverse collection of vineyards dates back to Neil Grosser’s planting of the first vines in the early 1970s. Even after many years of expansion and changes of ownership the winery still values its heritage, with Neil Grosser remaining the viticulturist to this day.
With three vineyards, thirty hectares under vine and decades of history behind it, Mount Eyre Vineyards is an important part of the Hunter Valley’s winemaking culture, responsible for pioneering the planting of Italian
varietals fiano and nero d’avola in the region. The winery produces a diverse range of varietals, including fiano and nero d’avola, as well as semillon, chardonnay, verdelho, moscato, shiraz, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Together these varietals make up the 2000 to 3000 cases of wine that the winery produces each year.
Mount Eyre Vineyards is an energetic winery that is always striving for new discoveries. This energy has been recognised by the industry at large in the form of numerous medals and trophies as well as strong reviews from Australia’s leading wine critics.
In the heart of Pokoblin you can enjoy the winery’s intimate cellar door experience. Here amidst the trees and grapevines you will find beautiful wines from the three vineyards available for you to sample. If you’re looking for somewhere exquisite to stay the night, you’ll find the Holman Estate Guesthouse tough to beat. This gorgeous homestead is located on the Holman Estate and boasts some of the best views in the Hunter Valley. Generously sized and beautifully appointed, the guesthouse offers a luxurious stay and the chance to experience life on a working vineyard. Guests are also invited to visit the olive grove and see where the products it produces come from.
With its unique composition and extensive heritage, Mount Eyre Vineyards offers one of the most distinctive winery experiences in the Hunter Valley
