LOGAN

LOGAN

Tucked into the high hills of Mudgee, Logan has been crafting a new narrative for Australian wine since 1996. Founded by Peter Logan, this estate combines striking landscapes, cool-temperate viticulture and a fearless winemaking philosophy to deliver wines that are as refined as they are original.

Logan specialises in wines that speak with subtlety and sophistication. Grown in volcanic soils at cool climate altitudes, its sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, riesling and pinot noir deliver vibrant acidity and pure varietal expression. The estate vineyard spans seventeen meticulously tended hectares, producing standout shiraz and tempranillo. And with grenache newly planted and poised for its first full vintage in 2026, the future is full of promise and ready to unfold.

However, Logan is more than its flagship varieties. The Logan Lab series – an exclusive, small-batch collection available only through the cellar door – pushes boundaries with distinctive expressions of marsanne, petit verdot, sangiovese and pinot gris. It’s a space where innovation flourishes and the unexpected is always on offer.

Visiting Logan is an experience as memorable as the wine. Designed by renowned architect Stephen Buzacott, the striking, modern cellar door is perched high above Apple Tree Flat, offering sweeping views of vineyard-draped hills and distant mountain ranges. It’s a bold, architectural reflection of Peter Logan’s ethos: outward-looking, adventurous and always rooted in place.

Recognition has followed form. Logan’s 2022 Ridge of Tears Riesling was named Best Riesling of the New World at Meininger’s Global Riesling Challenge. The winery has also been named Gourmet Traveller’s Cellar Door of the Year, as well as “Best Bunch of Grapes” at the 2025 Mudgee Show – demonstrating its stronghold within the community.

With twenty-seven wines across five ranges, a fiercely creative spirit and one of the most breathtaking tasting rooms in New South Wales, Logan is a must-visit for anyone who believes wine should be as breathtaking and adventurous as the land it comes from.

Tasting Notes

Logan
⇐ Ridge of Tears

‘Druim nan deur’ is Scottish Gaelic for ‘Ridge of Tears’ – the old Logan Clan war cry. Ridge of Tears showcases the best grapes from both the Mudgee and Orange vineyards in an exploration of style and terroir.

Logan
⇐ Logan Lab

Logan Lab is Peter Logan’s quirky new addition to the Logan family of wines. This limited release collection celebrates the pinnacle of Pete’s experimental trials with different grape varietals such as petit verdot, marsanne and sangiovese. Available only through the cellar door and to wine club customers.

Logan
⇐ Weemala

For those that enjoy something a little bit different, the extremely drinkable Weemala range has a very loyal following. They’re all complex with pretty aromas, deep flavours and excellent value for money. Weemala is both an Aboriginal word for ‘good view’ and the name of the vineyard in Mudgee.

Logan
⇐ Clementine

The Clementine range shares its character with Pete Logan’s daughter, Minnie – full of energy, a little sassy and confidently bold. Whites are fermented on their skins and reds with whole bunches, creating vivid colours, layered textures and a mix of crunchy, salty, tangy flavours. Distinctive, fresh, and fun to drink.
