Latitude 32 Wines
Latitude 32 Wines
Perched in the picturesque Hunter Valley, Latitude 32 Wines was founded in 2019 by Emma and David White, driven by a passion and a vision to bring a fresh perspective to Hunter Valley wines. The pair have made a significant investment acquiring two of the best vineyards in the heart of Pokolbin. The first, Duck Hollow, was planted by Tyrells in the 1980s, and the second is the award-winning Mistletoe Vineyard, now renamed T.O.M. With twelve hectares of vines, the winery produces ten to fifteen varieties each year and 4,000 dozen wines annually, focusing on classic Hunter Valley varietals such as shiraz, semillon, and chardonnay, all with a modern twist that honours the history of each vintage. The 2026 vintage includes exciting emerging varietals for the Hunter Valley, including fiano and pecorino, as owners Emma and David dare to be different, offering a new angle to winemaking in the region.
Under the adept skills of Winemaker Adam Holmberg, Latitude 32 Wines has revived historic Hunter Valley blends like ‘The Great White’, a blend of semillon and chardonnay, and ‘The Bro’s’ a blend of shiraz and pinot noir, catering to the evolving tastes of today’s wine enthusiasts. In an exciting move, the winery has introduced ‘The Enigma’, a groundbreaking Australian wine – a pinot noir vinified as a white wine but crafted to taste like a red. This unique wine, produced from forty-year-old pinot noir fruit, is a first for the country, employing a technique learned from Alsace.
Latitude 32 Wines is more than just exceptional wines, it’s a destination. Nestled among the vineyards with stunning views of the Broken Back Ranges, the cellar door invites you to savour wine by the glass, enjoy light bites like cured meats, burrata, and arancini, and join Friday night sessions. For a truly unique experience, try the curated food pairings, such as dumplings perfectly matched with wine. Guests can immerse themselves in the vineyard setting, enjoying sensory wine and food matching, breakfast or picnic in the vines, self-guided vineyard walks, and tours with the winemaker – all designed to make every visit a memorable one.
Despite being a relatively new business, Latitude 32 Wines has already garnered impressive accolades, taking home the trophy for the best NSW White Wine in the Australian Small Winemakers Show for its 2025 ‘Edward’ Semillon and a gold medal for its 2024 Casuarina Semillon at the Winewise Small Vigneron Awards. Guided by its mantra “through a new lens”, Latitude 32 challenges the status quo, sets new trends in the wine industry, and ensures every bottle is forged by the spirit of discovery.
