Ivanhoe Wines

Perched in the picturesque Brokenback Range, the Ivanhoe estate weaves together an impressive tapestry of eighty hectares of vineyards. With the land being one of the most photographed and talked about vineyards in the region, the unparalleled beauty of the estate is no secret.

Bursting with potential and capitalising on its prime real estate, Ivanhoe Wines has soared to the top echelon of Hunter Valley wineries. With personalised and immersive wine tasting experiences, the worldclass cellar door and luxury tasting area is the perfect place to drink in the view and delight in the taste of the Hunter Valley’s beauty.

The estate was founded in 1996 by Stephen and Tracy Drayton, launching the Ivanhoe Wines label and the impressive story to come. 1999 marked the opening of the Ivanhoe Wines cellar door, allowing the estate to share the exquisite taste of its stunning wines. Since then, the estate has continually produced an abundance of the best wine the region has to offer – with some of the Hunter’s best varietal wines coming out of the estate.

The secret behind the winery’s success is the continual determination of Stephen and Tracy at the helm. The pair find unprecedented joy in their work – with their love for both people and viticulture remaining at the heart of the company. For Stephen and Tracy, maintaining a cherished vineyard and sharing wine with eager visitors is more than just work – it’s their life, their passion, and their mission.

The estate is known for its big gutsy reds, specifically Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chambourcin. However, it also offers an impressive array of whites, from Semillon and Verdelho to Chardonnay and other blends. Altogether, Ivanhoe Wines offers twenty-one styles of wine, producing approximately 10,000 cases per year. Cellar door experiences are generous and varied – with premium tastings offering an immersive experience that educates visitors on the wine tasting method, including a gourmet cheese board with thoughtful food and wine pairings.

Book an experience to taste one of the most heavenly slices of the Hunter Valley region.
