Cassegrain Wines

Cassegrain Wines is not your ordinary winery. This unique operation in Port Macquarie offers wines that combine traditional French methods with modern Australian technology. Founded by a family that has been making wine in France for centuries, the winery wholeheartedly embraces the two distinct halves of its identity to create something found nowhere else. Producing more than 25,000 cases each year across more than twenty varieties, there’s something here for everyone.

Pay the winery a visit at the right time and you can get a glimpse into many of the processes behind making its delectable wines. Every step of the wine production process is conducted on-site with one exception – the growing of the grapes. All the winery’s grapes are sourced from established and emerging growing regions across New South Wales, including Canberra District, Central Ranges (Cowra, Mudgee, Orange, Rylstone), Hastings River, Hilltops, Hunter Valley, Murray Darling, and New England. Beyond this, the winery’s partnership with the CSIRO is responsible for the first commercially grown Chambourcin grapes in Australia.

Cassegrain Wines specialises in the production of Méthode Traditionelle Sparkling, and over forty still wines. The wines range from the classics to alternative, interesting blends. All of these predominantly European varieties can be enjoyed at the winery’s cellar door, or in the restaurant.

Each season, the Chief Winemaker and the Head Chef craft a menu together, collaborating in the pairing of wines that complement and highlight the flavour and depth of each dish and wine. Dine while overlooking the estate on the terrace, or in the comfort of the restaurant. The venue is fully ramp accessible and offers seated or standing wine tastings. Leashed dogs are welcome.

If you’re looking for a little something extra alongside your wines, there’s a large array of events, workshops and dinners hosted at the winery and in various locations across the state.

All of these fantastic offerings demand to be accompanied by fantastic service, and that’s where the Cassegrain Wines concierge service comes in. If you wish to book yourself a table, make a purchase from its range of amazing products, or just have questions about the winery and its offerings you need answered, contact the concierge and they’ll be more than happy to help you. All of the winery’s services are available over the phone, on its website, at the Cellar Door or through the WithWine app. Be sure to sign up for Club Cassegrain to receive exclusive access to unreleased and museum wines as well as discounts and specials not available anywhere else.
