Bimbadgen

Situated in the heart of the Hunter Valley, one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious wine regions, Bimbadgen is instantly recognisable by its striking bell tower. The tower offers stunning panoramic views over the rolling vineyards and the Broken Back Mountain Range, while Bimbadgen’s modern architecture, marked by Mediterranean-inspired design elements sets it apart visually. The estate incorporates art, design, and live music, enhancing its reputation as a cultural destination. The estate consistently produces award-winning wines, showcasing the unique terror of the Hunter Valley. It is particularly known for light and zesty semillon, elegant, medium-bodied shiraz, and alternative varietals and limited-release ranges that reflect the winemaker’s creativity.

The Bimbadgen cellar door is the heart of the estate, a modern architectural space that opens to the estate’s flagship McDonalds Road vineyard. Here, guests are invited to explore the Bimbadgen range through two distinctive tasting options: the Choose Your Own Journey, allowing guests to tailor their tasting experience, Alterno Supremo, focusing on its alternative varietals and limited release wines, and the Signature Experience, which spotlights rare, single-parcel wines only made in exceptional vintages. Just steps away, the Woodfired Pizzeria provides a rustic counterpoint. This Tuscan-inspired al fresco eatery serves crisp, handmade pizzas in a relaxed outdoor setting, ideal for a leisurely lunch or a casual evening with friends.

Perched above the winery and accessed via an elevated bridge, Esca is a dining destination that mirrors the elegance of its surrounds. With full-length windows framing views over the vines and Broken Back Range, Esca offers a seasonal menu that celebrates simplicity, balance and the best of local produce. Under the guidance of Head Chef, Raphael Martinez, each seasonal menu offers a subtle nod to his pan-Asian roots, interpreted through a modern-Australian lens. Whether guests opt for a long lunch, à la carte dinner, or curated wine pairing, Esca delivers a thoughtful, flavour-forward experience rooted in both place and season.

For those looking to truly slow down and soak in the Hunter Valley’s beauty, Bimbadgen’s newest venture, The Lane Retreat, offers premium vineyard accommodation just minutes from the main estate. Set on fifteen hectares of vines at Palmers Lane vineyard, the Retreat’s fifty-nine private studio rooms blend warmth and style, with plush interiors and private decks looking out to the Broken Back Range, Palmers Lane Vineyard and onsite dam. Guests can start their day with barista coffee from The Pantry, stock up on gourmet local provisions for a picnic among the vines or spend a lazy afternoon by the resort-style pool, heated through winter for year-round enjoyment. Complimentary guest bikes, in-room massages and transfers to and from Bimbadgen Estate complete the picture of relaxed indulgence.
